Some folks may be counting down the days until the next election, but Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, is making plans to stay in Washington, D.C., for the long haul. Ivanka announced this week she plans to close down her self-titled fashion brand, having stopped working directly with the company last year in order to take over as senior advisor at the White House. “When we first started this brand, no one could have predicted the success that we would achieve,” she said in a statement to CNBC. “After 17 months in Washington, I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington, so making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners.” Ivanka launched the brand in 2007.
