As Ben Affleck continues working to beat his substance abuse issues with the help of a sober coach, therapists and a rehab program, his childhood friend, Matt Damon “continues to be a huge support,” according to an Us Weekly source. “He’ll always be there for Ben whenever he needs him,” the insider adds. Ben recently returned to rehab after having previous in-patient treatment stints in 2001 and 2017. Speaking to ET last year about the importance of his friendship with Matt, Ben said: “I can’t tell you how valuable it is to have somebody who’s been through things with you, ups and downs, who knows what your life experience is like, who can identify with that. It’s an incredibly valuable friendship and it’s very precious and so is my friendship with my brother. I don’t know what I would do without those guys.”
