While rumour mills keep churning out story after story about Sara Ali Khan’s not-so-secret crush on Kartik Aaryan, another romance is blossoming.
An entertainment website reports that Sara has been spending quality time with her Kedarnath co-star Sushant Singh Rajput.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Kedarnath marked Sara’s big screen debut. The film is set against the background of the Uttarakhand floods that ravaged the shrine-town in 2013. It is a love story of the Muslim pitthoo Mansoor (Sushant) and the Pahadi Pandit’s daughter Mandakini aka Mukku (Sara).
Sara and Sushant shared a great bond during the making of the romantic drama and have remained in touch even after its release. When Sushant turned 33 on Monday, Sara ensured that she did not miss his special day.
According to a source, Sara cut her Dehradun trip short, so that she could be by Sushant’s side on his birthday. She dropped by his apartment at night with a cake, and they went on for dinner together after that. Sushant then dropped Sara home, and they snuck in some quality time together.
On the work front, Sushant will be seen next in Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya. He plays a bandit named Lakhna in the film, which is set in Chambal in 1975.
Sonchiriya, which also features Ranvir Shorey, Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles, is slated to open in theatres on February 8.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that Sara has been signed for David Dhawan’s remake of Coolie No 1 opposite Varun Dhawan. It is being said that the film will go on floors in July and hit the screens sometime next year.
