Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are opening up about their marriage for the first time. The couple, who exchanged vows in a courthouse wedding back in September, discussed some of the difficulties they have faced over the past year and how their marriage is anything but perfect.
Bieber and Baldwin starting dating a little over three years ago, but their romance quickly fizzled out before anything got serious. Baldwin says that the breakup was difficult, and that there was a time when they could not be in the same room with each other.
But that all changed during a church conference when the two finally got over their differences. From that point on, their romance got a jumpstart and things moved very fast.
In fact, the pair got married a few weeks after they rekindled their romance, which prompted a lot of backlash from fans. Some fans questioned Baldwin’s commitment while others thought they were rushing into things too quickly.
Although Baldwin believes she made the right decision in marrying the pop star, she also admitted that things have not always been smooth sailing.
“I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy. It’s always going to be hard. It’s a choice. You don’t feel it every single day,” she explained.
According to Us Magazine, Baldwin admitted that things are scary at times because they are both so young. The model understands that they will experience changes as they age, but she is willing to fight for their marriage. She is also looking forward to growing old with Bieber and supporting him through all of life’s challenges.
For his part, Bieber discussed how he was actually practicing celibacy prior to the wedding. The singer explained how being celibate is important for religious reasons, but for him, staying away from sex was more about avoiding a vice. At the end of the day, Bieber believes that god blessed him with Baldwin as a result of his “good behavior.”
