Johnny Depp Sues Real ‘Perpetrator’ Amber Heard For No Less Than $50 Million Over Her ‘Elaborate Hoax’
The actor is finally fighting back! According to new reports, Johnny Depp has filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against his former wife, Amber Heard after she accused him of domestic abuse.
The Blast has obtained the suit in which Johnny alleges that Amber’s domestic abuse claims were nothing more than an ‘elaborate hoax.’
He apparently takes a huge issue with an article the actress previously wrote for Washington Post in December of last year, arguing that it caused a lot of damage to his image and therefore, career.
Apparently, Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise dropped him only four days after the story was published, causing him to lose tens of millions of dollars.
His lawsuit argues that while Amber never mentioned his name in the article, it still ‘depends on the premise that Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Depp perpetrated the said violence against her. Heard wrote from the perspective of ‘a public figure representing domestic abuse’ and claimed she ‘felt the full force of our culture’s wrath towards women who speak out.’’
The suit filed by Depp mentions that Amber used her claims against her former husband for the sole purpose of advancing her career, while ruining his.
Furthermore, the actor’s suit also states that Amber is not the victim, ‘she is the perpetrator.’
The lawsuit goes on to bring into discussing Heard’s claims that on May 21, 2016, Depp attacked her.
Apparently, Johnny has neutral third-party witnesses, the testimony of two police officers, and even surveillance footage to prove that nothing happened.
On the other hand, to argue that she was, in fact, the abusive one, Depp’s lawsuit details an incident from back in 2015, when, she apparently threw a vodka bottle at him which broke when making contact with one of his hands.
Depp claims that the injury he suffered was so severe, he had to get a finger reattached surgically.
Despite this, Amber supposedly ‘disseminated false accounts of this incident, casting Mr. Depp as the perpetrator of his own injury.’
The suit adds that ‘Ms. Heard knew her elaborate hoax worked: as a result of her false allegations against Mr. Depp, Ms. Heard became a darling of the #MeToo movement.’
Therefore, she was ‘the first actress named a Human Rights Champion of the United Nations Human Rights Office, became an ambassador on women’s rights at the American Civil Liberties Union, and was also hired by L’Oreal Paris as its global spokesperson,’ all at the expense of Johnny Depp’s reputation and emotional well-being.
