Owen Hunt will be getting a blast from the past on Grey’s Anatomy before the end of the season.
Sorry, it’s still not Dr Cristina Yang, but Seattle Grace Hospital’s chief trauma surgeon will actually be getting a visit from his sister Megan in an upcoming episode.
Former recurring Grey’s cast member Abigail Spencer confirmed in a sneak peek from seton Tuesday (March 5) that she’s back working on the ABC medical drama, teasing: “Red hair. Super care.”
E! News reports that Megan will be back for one episode later in the season to check in on brother Owen (Kevin McKidd), but what about Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson)?
The couple were last seen departing Seattle for Los Angeles so they could raise her son together a few years back, and there’s no word yet on if Riggs will be coming along for the visit.
Abigail Spencer has kept very busy since leaving Grey’s Anatomy in 2017, having most recently wrapped up her cult hit NBC science fiction series Timeless with a TV movie over the holiday season.
Spencer also has a recurring role on USA Network’s Suits as ex-Pearson Specter senior partner Dana ‘Scottie’ Scott, and memorably appeared in True Detective.
Late last month, there was another nostalgic casting announcement when Angel and Person of Interest‘s Amy Acker landed the role of the late Derek Shepherd’s fourth sister.
