The talented young singer got candid about her own mental health and learning to prioritize it. It makes sense that Billie Eilish would open up about such a current concern since her fans relate so much to her songs that sometimes touch upon this issue. Billie definitely wants to be a good role model and bring awareness.
But of course, Billie is also only 17 years old so she is still learning how to deal with mental health problems herself.
The star had some precious advice, telling her fans that ‘It doesn’t make you weak to ask for help. Starting that conversation, you do not have to make it super serious right away.’
She went on to say that what can make a huge difference is just making sure to check on a friend or a loved one in their time of need.
Just ask them: ‘Are you okay? Really? Are you actually good?’
But if they don’t respond well to such forward, personal questions and that actually pushes them away further, Billie thinks that just a silent hug or a simple text can make a huge difference as well.
‘Sometimes you don’t even have to say something for them to know… Sometimes it’s about a hug. The main thing I am trying to say is that you should keep your ears open and should listen.’
While she’s not a professional, Billie knows all of these things from personal experience.
‘It’s been like that for me. There’s been certain people that have texted me right as I need to be texted, saying that they love me and it really means a lot.’
Today, Billie is ‘trying [her] best’ and that is what anyone can ever really do.
