Glitch is reportedly returning to Netflix and ABC in 2019 but the news surrounding the show has been few and far between. Here, we’ll be rounding up everything we do know about the third and now confirmed to be the final season of the Australian thriller, Glitch.
Let’s quickly rewind back to 2015 when the series very first came to Netflix. The series was announced to come to Netflix shortly after its release on ABC TV in Australia. the first season first aired in Australia on July 9th, 2019.
Season 2 had Netflix involved from the get-go this time around and released on the service on November 2017, two months after it first aired on ABC.
The show, in case you’ve never watched before, is about six people returning from the dead trying to investigate the causes of what happened.
Where is season 3 of Glitch in production?
The show was renewed in 2018 and we reported that the show had been given a third season in August 2018.
Glitch is likely to have finished production of season 3 for quite some time.
Production began in September 2018 when we got word via an image of the clapper.
The show was then in production for several months before concluding in December 2018.
The series is definitely due out in 2019 as confirmed numerous times by the social accounts behind the show.
When will season 3 of Glitch be on Netflix?
Right now, no official date has been set although we’ve been told that we’ll know by the end of July 2019.
The show has previously released in its entirety in Australia before making its way onto Netflix and we envision that happening again this year.
So if we stick to a similar time schedule as season 2, we expect the show to begin in Australia in September and then get added to Netflix a couple of months later.
Will season 3 be the final season of Glitch?
Sadly, it’s now been confirmed as of July 2019 that Glitch season 3 is set to be the last.
The announcement came over social media with updated graphics that says: “The third and final season.”
Who’s returning for season 3?
Given what we know so far we know that Patrick Brammall is definitely reprising his role as James Hayes. We’re also expecting Genevieve O’Reilly, Emma Booth, Emily Barclay, Ned Dennehy and Sean Keenan to return too.
Some of the new cast members for season 3 include Dustin Clare who’ll play Mark Clayton-Stone and Jessica Faulkner who’ll play Belle.
