In the new season of “GLOW,” Alison Brie’s character Ruth, an actress turned TV wrestler circa 1987, begins coming into her own. Part of that plotline involves her going au naturel in front of others. As Alison recently explained to People, it was the first time she’d done any nudity on-camera — and she found she was totally cool with it. “I hadn’t been anti nudity, I just really took a strong stance in wanting to find a project that I felt merited the nudity it wanted me to do. I hadn’t really found that project until ‘GLOW,'” she said, adding that the show’s creators were determined to have the cast “represent women in every type of way … and part of that means showing our bodies.” Alison continued: “Even the nudity on the show, to me, has been very empowering. It kind of reminding myself that I love my body and I’m not ashamed to share it in a non-sexual way on a show …To show nudity as a representation of female friendship and their closeness and their intimacy, was very exciting to me and very true to who I am. I feel a little bit more like myself every year of the show.”
