Since his high-profile split from Angelina Jolie and subsequent turn towards sobriety, Brad Pitt’s spoken openly about how booze was negatively impacting his life before he got sober. In an interview with the New York Times published this week, the “Ad Astra” star gets candid about another substance he relied on too heavily in the past. “I’ve had moments where I’ve seen pictures of myself from years ago and gone, ‘That kid looks all right.’ But I didn’t feel that way inside. I spent most of the ’90s hiding out and smoking pot,” admitted Brad, 55. “I was too uncomfortable with all the attention.” At the time, he was experiencing a meteoric rise to fame courtesy of his turns in 1994’s “Interview with the Vampire,” 1995’s “Seven” and 1999’s “Fight Club,” among others. “[I] got to a place where I was aware that I was imprisoning myself,” he recalled. “Now I go out and live life, and generally people are pretty cool.”
