Drew Barrymore reunited with ex-husband Tom Green on her talk show after not seeing or speaking to him for 15 years.
The 45-year-old actress teared up as she told Green, “I think the world of you and I celebrate you and I always have and always will,” during Friday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show.”
And the feeling is apparently mutual, as Green, 49, told her, “I was so happy when you invited me on the show. It’s been too long … We really did not talk for about 15 years.”
The pair got married in 2001 but ended things after a year.
They first met when Barrymore reached out to Green to be in “Charlie’s Angels” with her.
“We hit it off right away,” Green said, reflecting on their time on set together.
Following their on-air reunion, Barrymore reflected on the meet-up, telling “ET,” “It wasn’t for TV and TV sensationalism. It’s very emotional and there was a meaning and a depth to it, but a fun celebration.”
She said they’re both a lot more mature now than they were during their brief marriage.
“We were just kids. We’re both more grown-up now and there has been a whole life lived,” she said. “It’s wild to reconnect.”
She also reflected on why it’s taken so long for them to reunite.
“I guess that goes back to the ‘Timing Is Everything’ everything sign I have in my entryway … Somehow Tom Green and I have found our way back into each other’s lives through oddly the timing and the medium of television, and that kind of is where we first met,” she said. “So maybe that’s a full circle thing… I think for Tom and I, we’re like, ‘Wow there’s been a lot of growth and life lived on both sides of our universes in these last 20 years.’”
The comedian was Barrymore’s second husband. She was also married to Jeremy Thomas from 1994 to 1995 and Will Kopelman from 2012 to 2016.
