Trey Songz is one of the latest celebrities to contract COVID-19.
The 36-year-old singer revealed his diagnosis on Instagram on Monday, sharing that he’d been getting tested regularly due to interacting with large groups of people outside.
“I’ve taken many tests as I’ve been out protesting, food drives, of course I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and, this time, unfortunately it came back positive,” he said.
Songz reassured fans that he will be taking his results “seriously” and has “always taken it serious.”
“I will be self-quarantining,” he added. “I will be in my house until I see a negative sign.”
The “Na Na” singer then appeared to make a slight jab at President Donald Trump, who is currently battling coronavirus himself.
Songz said, “If you come in contact with COVID, please do the same. Please do the same. Don’t be like the president. Much love and peace, y’all. I thank you in advance for your support [and] your love.”
Many friends of the singer sent their well-wishes, including rapper Fabolous and music exec Jermaine Dupri who commented with prayer emojis.
