At least one member of the royal family admits to watching “The Crown.”
Mike Tindall, who is married to the Queen’s eldest, Zara Phillips, confessed to watching the popular Netflix series which chronicles Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
Speaking about the show last week on the podcast “The Good, the Bad and the Rugby,” the former professional rugby player revealed that he isn’t up to date but is in the midst of a season that deals with his mother-in-law Princess Anne dating Andrew Parker-Bowles who was in an on-again-off-again relationship with Camilla Shand, who was also seeing Prince Charles.
“I need to catch up,” he told podcast host Alex Payne. “I actually saw the advert for it, and I was like, ‘Ooh, I need to catch up’ because I only got about halfway through season three so, I started watching season three last night and then I’ll catch up.
“But I’ve seen it all over the place this morning, and on those popular midday TV shows so, yeah, I’m quite intrigued to see where they go with it because obviously, it’s an era that people are fascinated with.”
Tindall did add a disclaimer about the buzzed-about series.
“But remember everyone, it is a drama so it’s going to be made into a bit of a drama.”
He also said that he’d like Jason Statham to play him in Season 5.
