Renewed: ‘Modern Family’
ABC has announced that “Modern Family” has been renewed for an 11th season, which will be the hit comedy’s final season. “[Executive producers] Chris [Lloyd] and Steve [Levitan] have created one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history,” said ABC president Karey Burke. “In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won’t want to miss.”
Renewed: ‘Mom’
“Mom” is doubling up. CBS’ comedy series starring Anna Faris and Allison Janney has been renewed for two more seasons, assuring seasons seven and eight will air in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Renewed: ‘A Million Little Things’
ABC’s freshman drama “A Million Little Things” has been renewed for a second season, continuing the story of a group of male friends (David Giuntoli, James Roday and Romany Malco) struggling to make sense of the death of the friend who brought them all together (Ron Livingston).
Renewed: ‘New Amsterdam’
Great news for fan’s of Global medical drama “New Amsterdam”, which is being renewed for a second season. “We’ve been so excited to see how much audiences have embraced Dr. Max Goodwin and all the characters that make ‘New Amsterdam’ such an incredibly compelling medical series,” Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. “Congratulations to [executive producers] David Schulner, Peter Horton, our writers and an amazing cast and crew who have brought these stories to life.”
Renewed: ‘Shameless’
Showtime is renewing “Shameless” for a 10th season. “The Gallaghers are a force of nature, and they are coming back,” said Showtime president Gary Levine in a statement. “’Shameless’, with its ever-growing fan base, is like no other show on television. We are thrilled it will live on with its unique blend of love and larceny on Showtime.” Added executive producer John Wells: “All of us on ‘Shameless’ are delighted that we get to tell more wonderful Gallagher stories — and thankful to Showtime for their continued support. We can’t wait to get back to work with this extraordinary cast.”
