Kanye West is already thinking about his next relationship.
The newly single rapper — who is in the midst of a divorce from Kim Kardashian — wants his next relationship to be “with an artist and a creative person,” a source tells us, explaining it’s so “they can speak the same language to each other.”
But his next partner has a lot to live up to. West, 43, has previously declared: “I am Michelangelo. I am Picasso.” He also told GQ, “I am unquestionably, undoubtedly, the greatest human artist of all time. It’s not even a question at this point. It’s just a fact.”
Prior to marrying Kardashian in 2014, West dated models Chanel Iman and Amber Rose. He was also rumored to have dated Selita Ebanks, and was engaged to designer Alexis Phifer in 2006. They split in 2008.
Kardashian, on the other hand, is focusing on “remaking her image as a devoted mother,” and is looking to “eventually enter politics,” said our insider.
In January, there was a Twitter fan campaign for Kardashian to date CNN’s Van Jones, but we were told at the time that she wasn’t seeing anyone.
A source said, “She’s not dating anyone because, if she were, it would be a career move. She can’t go to restaurants now on dates and have paparazzi [due to the pandemic]. She can’t date quietly; she doesn’t even understand what that would be like.”
But another source close to Kardashian said, “We’re talking about someone who is already one of the most famous people in the world … she doesn’t need anyone to make her more famous.”
Kardashian, 40, previously dated Ray J, Nick Cannon and Reggie Bush and was married to Damon Thomas and (infamously) Kris Humphries for just 72 days.
Page Six was the first to report in January that the Kardashian-West divorce was “imminent.” The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star filed in February.
In papers filed Friday, West lists the reason for the divorce as irreconcilable differences. He is also asking for joint legal and physical custody of their four children and to have the right to spousal support on both sides to be terminated.
