Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez secretly got married this weekend, multiple sources have told TMZ. The couple got engaged in December 2020 and have been together for a little over a year.
The two wed in Grande’s Montecito home, which she purchased last June. TMZ’s sources said the vow exchange was informal, and there were few guests in attendance. Grande has not confirmed the news yet on her social media.
A source explained to People why Grande and Gomez chose her Montecito home as their venue. “Both Ari and Dalton love Montecito. They spend a lot of time there,” People’s source explained. “It seems only natural that they would get married at Ari’s beautiful and historic house.
TMZ reported there were less than 20 people at the wedding.
E! reported that both Grande and Gomez’s families attended the ceremony along with a few of Grande and Gomez’s close friends.
The ceremony comes after multiple outlets reported on April that the two were planning a summer wedding.
Us Weekly reported on April 7 that Grande wanted an early summer wedding date. “Ariana and Dalton’s wedding will happen early summer,” a source told Us. E! ran a report one day later, where it indicated that Grande has begun wedding planning. The outlet did not specify when Grande was planning to wed Gomez. It turned out, apparently, to be May.Sources told both outlets that the two planned to have a small wedding amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Us Weekly was told by a source that the couple wants a “very small and intimate affair. Nothing will officially happen until it’s safe [with the COVID-19 pandemic].”
E! was told similarly by a source close to Grande on April 8. “They both do not want a huge extravagant event, so they are figuring out what their options are for an intimate ceremony,” the source said.
