RHOP Star Ashley Darby Opens Up About the “Heartbreaking” Miscarriage She Recently Suffered
During last night’s Real Housewives of Potomac reunion, series star Ashley Darby revealed that she and her husband, Michael Darby, are finally ready to start a family. It was a happy announcement that followed a season’s worth of fighting between the couple, and Ashley wondering if she was ‘wasting her time’ in a marriage with a man who didn’t want children.
However, it was marred by the revelation that the couple’s first attempt at parenthood ended in a tragic loss.
“Michael and I are in a much better place,” Ashley explained to host Andy Cohen. “We are trying to have a family. I actually did conceive a week before my birthday and unfortunately, I had a miscarriage two weeks into the pregnancy.”
Ashley, who turned 30 in June, went on to explain that this was not her first miscarriage, and that she now fears it may be indicative of a larger problem.
“I had one when I was in my early 20s, so now I’m worried if there’s something going on with my body,” she revealed.
Some of Ashley’s castmates got emotional as she opened up about her loss, especially Monique Samuels who also suffered a miscarriage last year.
“I’m sorry to hear that Ashley,” said Monique, before she burst into tears. “I wouldn’t wish that on anybody… I know what that feels like. I wouldn’t want anybody to go through that.”
Following the show, Ashley, took to her Twitter to thank fans for their support.
She wrote, “It’s clear that a few ladies and I have had our share of differences, but sharing the news that Michael and I lost a baby was tough. The sympathy from every woman meant the world to me. We bicker and battle, but life is special. I still love them all ❤️ #RHOP.”

On the bright side, Ashley says the experience has brought her and Michael “closer” together in ways she didn’t expect.
She tweeted, “It was indeed heartbreaking. Brought us closer than we’ve ever been before too.”

Ashley is now seeking the advice of fertility specialists, including a “Chinese medicine doctor,” whom she hopes will help to ensure that the couple soon has a healthy bundle of joy.
