Kristen Stewart will be making her triumphant return to “SNL” on Saturday, making her second appearance as host following her well-received debut in February 2017.
In a new promo for this week’s show, the “Charlie’s Angels” star is seen onstage in Studio 8H, telling viewers that she’s “gonna be hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ this weekend, with musical guest Coldplay. That’s right. This week, the show’s all mine.”
Suddenly, K-Stew’s celebratory moment is interrupted by the sound of two hands slowly clapping, with the camera turning to reveal a figure seated in the shadows.
“Great job, Kristen, but, ah, I think we all know who the king of the castle is around here, right?” says the figure, revealed to be “SNL” cast member Kate McKinnon — costumed as Stewart, whom she’s portrayed on the show numerous times.
Speaking to the baffled star, McKinnon stands and continues. “You’ve been here before,” she says.
“Yeah,” retorts Stewart. “I’ve been here before. Wasn’t long ago. Apparently somebody thought I did a pretty good job.”
“Yeah,” replies McKinnon. “Your mom.”
That, declares Stewart, is “too far,” and the pair settle the differences in the most ferocious way possible: a thumb war!
Viewers can catch Stewart on the Nov. 2 episode of “Saturday Night Live”, airing Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on Global.
