Robin Williams’ eldest son Zak married the love of his life on World Mental Health Day this weekend.
He said he couldn’t have picked a better date to tie the knot with girlfriend Olivia June.
They were married in Los Angeles, US, in an intimate ceremony – surrounded by close friends and family.
The couple opted for a Covid-safe outdoor wedding and both loved the idea of being wed on 10-10-20.
Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin was found dead at his San Francisco home in August 2014. He was 63.
The much-loved star had been battling depression.
His son knows his father would have loved to be at his wedding – and selected a critical day to get married.
Zak tweeted:
“I had the great joy of marrying my best friend @oliviajune today! It went awesome and we couldn’t have tied the knot on a betterday. #WorldMentalHealthDay.”
His message was alongside a picture of the happy couple.
June uploaded her own cheeky message after saying ‘I do’ at the incredible Paramour Estate on Saturday.
“Married my best friend and love of my life today @zakwilliams you were already stuck with me forever, and now it’s legally so.”
Susan Williams, Robin’s widow, gave an emotional account of her husband’s tragic death and what led to those final moments.
“If we were lucky, we would get two hours’ sleep and then he would thrash and we would be up. He was always awake and ready to talk,” she said.
“Usually, he would be looping on a delusional fear or paranoia that he couldn’t shake, and we would talk it through.”
Robin was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and was told by that if treated properly he would get another ’10 good years’.
