Original “Saved By the Bell” star Tiffani Thiessen says the recent reboot of the beloved show “exceeded my expectations.”
Showrunner Tracy Wigfield “has done a great job,” Thiessen, 46, recently told Page Six. “She’s given [fans] a little of the nostalgia of it, bringing some of the characters back.”
But Thiessen adds that Wigfield brought in “some amazing new characters that are smart, funny [and] witty” and notes the show “has a lot of heart, too.”
Without spoiling the entirety of her character’s arc with Zack Morris, Thiessen says that the part of their plot fans have had the hardest time accepting is that the couple has had only one child.
And as for retroactively imagining a role “Saved By the Hell” that her husband of 15 years, Brady Smith, might have played, Thiessen says Smith, who illustrated the couple’s children book, “You’re Missing It!,” would have been “that guy that would be painting all the girls, you know, and all the girls would think was hot.”
