Justin Timberlake Says He Has a New Album in the Works: ‘I’ve Been In and Out of the Studio’
Justin Timberlake has some new music on the way!
During a virtual appearance on Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the singer revealed that he’s been working on a new album.
“Can we say? Is there a possibility that there’s going to be a new Justin Timberlake album in the works?” Fallon asked.
“Yeah, we can say that,” Timberlake, 39, replied coyly. “There is a possibility.”
The “Suit and Tie” crooner then added more definitively, “Let’s go with yes — I’ve been in and out of the studio working on stuff.”
Timberlake, a longtime friend of Fallon’s, went on to share that he’s already played “a few tunes” from the upcoming record for the late night host.
However, for now Timberlake isn’t dropping any hints about when fans can expect the music to drop. “I just take my time,” he remarked.
His last studio album, Man of the Woods, was released in February 2018, just two days before he performed on the Super Bowl. The album, his fifth overall, topped the Billboard 200 and spawned the singles “Filthy,” “Supplies,” and “Say Something.”
In addition to opening up about his new music, the former *NSYNC star also gave an update on his newborn son Phineas, whom he shares with wife Jessica Biel.
“How is the baby?” Fallon, 46, asked, with Timberlake joking in reply, “You mean me? I’m doing great!”
Timberlake opened up about Phineas’ arrival for the first time during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this month after having kept Biel’s pregnancy under wraps. The couple, who wed in 2012, also share 5½-year-old son Silas.
