Prince Louis is growing up!
On Thursday, Kensington Palace unveiled a new photo of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s youngest child ahead of his 3rd birthday on Friday.
The picture, which featured Louis riding his bike before he left for his first day of nursery school, was taken by his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, 39.
Royal watchers wished Louis a “Happy Birthday” in the Instagram comments, while also noting the resemblance to his older siblings, Prince George, 7, and Princess Charlotte, who turns 6 next month.
“Oh my goodness he is absolutely adorable. Just like his big brother and sister,” one fan commented.
“He’s just like George😱,” another remarked.
The young prince also drew comparisons to Kate’s father Michael Middleton.
“I think he resembles Kate’s father!” one commenter posted. “He’s definitely a Middleton!”
“He looks like Michael Middleton,” another responded.
Louis isn’t the only royal who celebrated a birthday this week. On Wednesday, Queen Elizabeth II turned 95, days after she bid farewell to her husband of 73 years, the late Prince Philip.
“I have, on the occasion of my 95th birthday today, received many messages of good wishes, which I very much appreciate,” the Queen said in a statement shared on social media.
“While as a family we are in a period of great sadness, it has been a comfort to us all to see and to hear the tributes paid to my husband, from those within the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world,” the statement continued.
The royal family gathered last weekend at St George’s Chapel for Philip’s funeral, with Prince Harry returning to the UK for the first time in over a year.
Harry, 36, has since flown back to California to be with pregnant wife Meghan Markle, who is due with the couple’s second child this summer.
