A source told People on Sunday that the host of “The Daily Show” and the “Friday Night Lights” actress parted ways after first being linked last August.
Surprise quarantine couple Minka Kelly and Trevor Noah have ended their private romance after a year of dating, Entertainment Tonight and People report. People broke the news of the breakup, with a source telling the outlet that Kelly and Noah were going their separate ways. Entertainment Tonight got a little more detail about why the split happened.
“Minka and Trevor have broken up,” Entertainment Tonight’s source said. “Their work commitments and careers are very different and they both felt like they should take time apart.” Kelly has been “leaning on friends, traveling and keeping busy since their split,” the source said, adding that her ex-boyfriend Noah “has been doing his own thing too.” and, over the weekend, was spotted partying in Miami with DJ Steve Aoki. Singledom — not so bad!
Kelly and Noah never spoke about their relationship publicly or confirmed it on their social media. But in January, People reported that their romance was very serious, with Noah buying a six-bedroom, 12-bathroom house in Bel Air for them to share at the end of December.
“They’re making plans for a future together, and it’s a very stable relationship,” People’s source said at the time. “They’ve been spending time between coasts over the last year and had been looking for a place in L.A. as a couple.”
While the private couple mostly stayed out of the spotlight — and never even publicly confirmed their relationship — the stars celebrated his 37th birthday together in February, but in a very low-key way: by grabbing takeout from In-N-Out Burger in Los Angeles.
Noah’s The Daily Show regularly shoots in New York City but has been filmed remotely during the coronavirus pandemic. Kelly appears to be currently shooting DC superhero show Titans’ third season in Canada, which is set to wrap in June after being delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Kelly and Noah have both been active on social media, posting shots of themselves out and about post-split. Kelly has been on vacation in Mexico.
Kelly’s past boyfriends include Jesse Williams, Derek Jeter, Chris Evans and Wilmer Valderrama. Noah was previously linked to girlfriend Jordyn Taylor in 2017.
