Glee and Scream Queens actress Lea Michele, 33, is ‘pregnant’ with her first child… one year after marrying Zandy Reich
Lea Michele reportedly has some great news to share with her fans.
The 33-year-old Glee star is pregnant with her first child, People claimed on Monday. It has been just over one year since the singer and actress wed her fashion executive husband Zandy Reich, 37.
‘They’ve always wanted to be parents,’ an insider has told the site.
Lea has not been seen out in public in several months. When she was spotted in December, the star had no bump.
The last time her body was seen on Instagram was on April 4. It is hard to tell if her midsection is bigger.
The star did not seem in a rush to have kids in 2018 when she told UsWeekly: ‘I’m still playing roles that are under 21, so I kind of want to push that for as long as I can. Having a baby might mess that up for me.’
But in October she seemed to be in a much more maternal mood as she told Ryan Seacrest that she can’t wait to dress her kids up for Halloween.
Oh, then they’re going to be like the cutest thing ever,’ she stated. ‘I feel like sushi is number one on the list — I want my kids to dress up like a lion or a taco— everything cute and adorable I want that for sure.’
The Brunette Bombshell author started dating Zandy in July 2017 and he proposed to Michele in April 2018.
They wed in March 2019 in Northern California with her pals Darren Criss, Becca Tobin and Emma Roberts in attendance.
‘We are so excited to be married and grateful to be surrounded by our friends and family,’ they told People. ‘And most of all, we’re so happy to spend the rest of our lives together.’
Lea became a star at a young age, having landed Broadway roles while in her teens.
The actress rose to international fame in 2009 when she starred as Rachel Berry in the Fox hit, Glee.
The New York native’s talents were center stage on the show, as her character had both Broadway dreams and a Broadway voice to match.
The star has produced two albums since 2014; Louder and Places. Christmas in the City is her first holiday album.
Meanwhile, Lea’s alleged pregnancy comes as she revealed last year she suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which can sometimes make it harder for women to conceive.
Explaining her health battle, she said: ‘The side effects can be brutal – like weight gain and bad skin.
‘Growing up, I had terrible skin. I went on Accutane three times. I was put on every medication that you could imagine to help my skin. Luckily, birth control was a saviour for me when I was in my teens. And then when I was in my late 20s, I realised I wanted to detox my body of all medications. That’s when everything happened – the return to bad skin and, this time, weight gain. I didn’t know what was going on.’
Lea was eventually diagnosed with the hormone imbalance and has been able to manage her condition with a plant-based diet.
She said: ‘I went to a great doctor, and the minute she looked at me, she was like, ‘Oh, you have PCOS.’ It explained everything.
‘Through diet, I have been able to manage it. But I am very fortunate. There are way more extreme versions of PCOS that women have a lot of difficulty with – mine is not as intense.
‘Which is why I haven’t really talked about it, because there are women who have it so much more intense.
‘Now, I feel like I am at the healthiest place in my entire life. It’s not that I’m the thinnest, because I’m not the thinnest I’ve been. But when I was the thinnest, I was not being the healthiest. I’m definitely the most mentally, physically, and spiritually sound that I’ve ever been.’
