Miley Cyrus won’t have kids until they can ‘live on an earth with fish in the water’

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth may have finally tied the knot after years of on-off dating (and multiple engagements), but don’t expect them to start planning for a stork visit anytime soon. In Elle’s August cover story, Miley explains that children are not on her horizon because she can’t reconcile putting another person on a planet plagued with the kind of environmental issues we’re facing in 2019. “When she’s angry, don’t f— with her,” the singer says, referring to Mother Nature. She goes on to make the case that women around the world are feeling that way, too. “That’s the way that I feel women are like right now. The earth is angry. We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women,” she declares. “We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted. It can’t produce. We’re getting handed a piece-of-s—- planet and I refuse to hand that down to my child.” Miley adds: “Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that. We don’t want to reproduce because we know that the earth can’t handle it.” It’s not just the earth, either. Miley takes issue with the abortion bans gaining momentum in states across the country, as well. “We’re expected to keep the planet populated … ,” she says of women everywhere. “And when that isn’t a part of our plan or our purpose, there is so much judgment and anger that they try to make and change laws to force it upon you — even if you become pregnant in a violent situation… ” Finally, the singer makes it clear she’s tired of the reaction she and others get when they suggest having kids may not be their thing. “If you don’t want children, people feel sorry for you, like you’re a cold, heartless b—- who’s not capable of love,” she says. “Why are we trained that love means putting yourself second and those you love first? If you love yourself, then what? You come first.”
