Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his fiancée, Brittany Matthews, posted a pair of family photos to Instagram on Friday, revealing their baby girl’s face for the first time.
“Hi, my name is Sterling,” Matthews captioned her adorable post, while Mahomes wrote, “Hello World!”
Matthews and Mahomes, both 25, welcomed Sterling in February. She is the couple’s first child.
For Sterling’s birth announcement, both Matthews and Mahomes concealed her face on social media. Matthews later told her followers that she and Mahomes would share photos of their daughter “when we [feel] the time is right.”
“I know the Internet will instantly take the photos of her and share everywhere so just preparing myself for my newborn baby girl to be shared with the world,” she posted at the time, according to E! News. “Right now we are just soaking in every minute with her.”
Matthews, a trainer, has been dating Mahomes since high school. The pair got engaged last September, with the quarterback popping the question at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
Matthews announced in March that she and Mahomes have since set a wedding date for next year.
The past 12 months have been eventful for Mahomes, who signed a 10-year extension with the Chiefs worth $503 million in July 2020. He and the Chiefs later competed in Super Bowl 2021 in February but fell to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-9.
In the weeks following the game, Matthews gave birth to baby Sterling.
