It looks like the first daughter is not going to stand by her father while he makes outrageous decisions. Ivanka Trump has confessed that she indeed does not agree at all with president Donald Trump’s controversial immigrant children separation policy.

Ivanka admitted that when the scandal was at its peak, it was a really ‘low point’ for her. But does the woman have any plans to intervene and change things for the better?

Today, while speaking at an Axios Newsmakers, Donald Trump’s daughter opened up about her views on the policy, and it is safe to say she does not agree with her dad.

‘That was a low point for me as well. I feel very strongly about it, and I’m vehemently against family separation and the separation of parents from their children, so I’d agree with that sentiment. Immigration’s incredibly complex as a topic. Illegal immigration’s incredibly complicated,’ she explained.

The Trump administration managed to reunite around 1,442 children with their parents and guardians last week, and other additional 378 kids were either united with their parents or with American sponsors.

But the problem’s far from being solved.

As you may be aware, the initial deadline of July 10 for reuniting all kids under the age of 5 with their families, and the July 26 deadline for those over 5 were both missed.

About 2,551 immigrant children in total have been separated from their parents at the border, so that means there are still a lot of families unsure when they will see their young ones again.

Ivanka went on to say that ‘I am a daughter of an immigrant, my mother grew up in the Communist Czech Republic, but we’re a country of laws. … we have to be extremely careful about incentivizing behavior that puts kids at risk of being trafficked, at risk of entering the country with coyotes or making a very dangerous journey alone. These aren’t easy issues, these are incredibly difficult issues, and like the rest of the country, I experience them in a very emotional way.’
