Anna Kendrick Is Taking a Break from Movies to Star in Her First TV Series

Have you been missing Anna Kendrick onscreen since Pitch Perfect sang its final verse in 2017? Maybe you’ve been wondering what she’s been up to since her 2018 sleeper hit A Simple Favor alongside Blake Lively. Well, you won’t have to wonder for long before you get a major fix — according to Variety, Kendrick has an anthology TV series on the way. She’ll be reuniting with Paul Feig on the project, her director in Simple Favor.

That’s not the only reason to look forward to the impending romcom, though. Reportedly titled Love Life, this project marks one of the first series officially locked down at WarnerMedia’s as-of-yet-unnamed new streaming service (an animated Gremlins series is another project on the docket for WarnerMedia). The service, and presumably Kendrick’s show, is expected to launch in 2020.

Ready for your next juicy bit of intel? Kendrick is not only starring in the series, but she will also serve as co-executive producer (with Feig). Fans of Kendrick in relationship-driven roles like Pitch Perfect and What to Expect When You’re Expecting have a lot to look forward to, given the series will follow a different protagonist’s quest for love each season. As you’ve probably guessed by now, the first season stars our girl Kendrick.

Here are a few more details about the upcoming series to chew on. Per The Wrap, the first season will feature 10 episodes and be about “the journey from first love to last love, and how the people we’re with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever.”

But, hey-oh, Love Life isn’t the only thing keeping Kendrick busy these days. She already has a few movies in post-production: Noelle, a family fantasy in which she’ll play the daughter of Santa Claus; Stowaway, a dramatic sci-fi about a mission to Mars; Dummy, a comedy where she plays an aspiring writer and her boyfriend’s sex doll; and Trolls World Tour, the sequel to the 2016 animated mega-success Trolls (Kendrick voices a pink troll named Poppy). All of that and she is currently filming another TV series! Called Human Discoveries, this second show follows a group of friends living at the dawn of human civilization.

See? We told you that you’d be getting your Kendrick fix soon.
