Is Gossip Girl returning? Deadline reports HBO Max has ordered a reboot of the popular CW TV show.
The original series followed a group of wealthy New York teenagers whose actions are tracked by a secret blogger known as “gossip girl.” The cast included Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick, Matthew Settle, Kelly Rutherford, and Jessica Szohr. The show ran on The CW for six seasons before ending in 2012.
The upcoming streaming service HBO Max has ordered 10 episodes of a Gossip Girl reboot, which will take place eight years after the original series and follow a new group of teenagers.
Joshua Safran, Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. TV and CBS Television Studios are producing.
