This week, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge kick off a two-month run on Broadway in “Sea Wall/A Life.” The show features Jake, 38, as a soon-to-be new dad who’s in the midst of exploring various aspects of fatherhood. Not surprisingly, the show has him thinking about whether he might have kids himself. “I do hope to be a father one day,” he tells “Sunday Today” host Willie Geist in a preview clip released on Today.com this week. “It’s a show about faith and family and the mess and comedy of life. It’s really actually about two fathers. And about, for my character, someone who’s just about to become a father. Also, he goes back into his relationship with his own father and the passing of his father and how that makes him feel becoming a father,” Jake explains. The actor, who’s reportedly dating 22-year-old model Jeanne Cadieu, has no kids yet but he is an uncle to his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s daughters, Ramona and Gloria, and has said in the past that he’s close with them.
