Kesha’s gearing up to release a new LP, too — her fourth, “High Road,” is due out Jan. 31. In the meantime, the singer’s promoting her new Kesha Rose Beauty line, which arrived Friday, Dec. 13 and marks her first celebrity beauty venture, though she says she’s “kind of hesitant to call it” that. Speaking to People, Kesha explained her collection is “not about any sort of ideal or anyone else’s view of what beauty is.” Instead, she says the line is about making the person wearing the makeup “happy.” It’s also inspired largely by David Bowie’s love of androgynous looks and bright colors — and his refusal to be defined by others. As for her own self-care beyond beauty, Kesha says now that she’s “done the hard work” and therapy she needed five years ago, she feels like she’s finally “living in that rainbow,” and she wants the same for her fans. “I want people to just have fun and feel good and have it not be dependent on any external ideas or philosophies or anything that satisfies anyone except for themselves,” she explains.
