Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan used ‘time off to reset’ as a family after a rough year

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have made a habit of breaking with royal tradition, but it was still somewhat of a surprise when the couple and their son Archie left England and traveled to Canada for Christmas, skipping the annual royal family celebration. Their trip to Toronto to see friends and to Vancouver with Meghan’s mother capped off about a month of downtime they reportedly needed after what an Us Weekly source called a “turbulent year” in which they battled the press over its coverage of Meghan and dealt with Harry and Prince William’s falling out. “They’re using their time off to reset and spend quality time as a family,” the insider said. “After a turbulent year, it’s just what the doctor ordered.”
