Ireland Baldwin is rethinking her relationship with Alec Baldwin after Kobe Bryant’s death

Kobe Bryant’s death is already having repercussions way beyond his loved ones and the world of basketball. In a new interview with ET, Ireland Baldwin explained how the death of Kobe, his daughter and seven other passengers in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26 has made her rethink her relationship with her father, Alec Baldwin. “[In light] of recent events that have happened within the last couple of weeks, like with Kobe, it’s like, ‘What’s the f—ing point of arguing?’ Like, there’s no point. So let’s all just get over it and hug that person you love,” she said. Issues between Ireland and Alec went public back in 2007, thanks to a voicemail he left for her in which he called her a “rude, thoughtless, little pig.” Ireland, 24, acknowledged that there’s “distance” between her and her dad today, but said they “have fun” together anyway and called his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, “amazing.” “You never know what’s going to happen to somebody and it all comes down to love,” Ireland told ET. “Nothing else matters.”
