No Time To Die actress Ana de Armas ‘unimpressed’ at producers’ take on Havana

Cuban Bond girl Ana de Armas was not impressed with the 007 producers’ version of Havana.

The No Time To Die scenes set in the country’s capital were filmed at Pinewood Studios just to the west of London.

“It was completely freezing, so it did not feel like home,” De Armas told Porter.

The actress, who plays Daniel Craig’s sidekick Paloma in the upcoming 25th 007 movie, left her home country as a teen to pursue her dream of becoming an actress.

Ana, 31, later admitted she was “impressed” by how “beautiful and realistic” the staged scenes of her hometown were.

She added it was “so great” to work with Daniel again, as she enjoys her successful journey from Havana to Hollywood.

Ana plays mysterious Cuban CIA agent Paloma in the film, and is described as “flawed” and “messy” as she reunites with Daniel after starring in last year’s box-office success Knives Out together.

The star also received a Golden Globe nomination for the role, and said it was “surreal” as she recalled the moment.

“It was very unexpected for me, and obviously I was proud and honored. I was really nervous and kind of wishing I wasn’t going to win, so I wouldn’t have to go up on stage,” Ana explained.

“At first, I thought, ‘What am I going to do there by myself with all these people?'”

She spotted Robert De Niro and Todd Phillips, who she had been in a movie with, and began to feel more at ease.

“It made me relax a little to know I wasn’t alone in a scary room,” the star continued.

Ana is also playing Marilyn Monroe for Netflix biopic, Blonde.

She said: “It wasn’t just about transforming physically to look the part, it was about understanding how intelligent she was.”
