In a candid new interview with “CBS Sunday Morning,” set to air Sunday, March 1, Mandy Moore opens up about how the emotional abuse she’s said she suffered while married to Ryan Adams affected her career. “I just felt like I was at a point in my life where I was the most comfortable making myself the least priority, and I made myself as small as possible in order to make someone else comfortable,” she explains, reflecting on the marriage. She ultimately filed for divorce in 2015, but even then, she was serious about giving up on Hollywood altogether. “I had done four failed TV pilots. So, I was kind of at the point where I was like, ‘Maybe this acting thing is done for me.’ Like, ‘Maybe I need to hang it up and go back to Florida, go to school, go try my hand at something else,'” she recalls (via Us Weekly). Mandy, who now stars in the acclaimed series “This Is Us” and married Dawes singer Taylor Goldsmith in 2018, added that the alleged abuse also “destroyed” both her connection to and interest in music and her “sense of self.”
