Kate Moss knows she deserves a diamond ring, no matter what her relationship status.
The supermodel, 46, opened up about her boyfriend Nikolai von Bismarck and the vintage emerald and diamond ring she wears on her left ring finger every day in an interview with the Telegraph.
“Oh, no, I’m not engaged. It’s more like, I’m in a relationship, I’m committed. I think after you’ve been married, that finger feels a bit empty. It was an ‘I’m going out with you, and I have a very empty finger, so give me a ring’ kind of present,” she said.
Fortunately for Moss, she didn’t have to goad von Bismarck, whom she’s been dating for five years, into shopping for the bauble.
“I like going jewelry shopping with Nikolai — he’s into it,” she said. “I think some men take just as much pleasure in giving jewelry as we do in receiving it.”
Indeed, it seems diamonds are the way to Moss’ heart; the famed model wears some of her most extravagant pieces on the beach and in the ocean (“the colors look so beautiful in the water,” she’s said) and constantly buys herself new jewelry.
She shared that another one of her most adored pieces is from her ex, Jefferson Hack, who is the father of her 18-year-old daughter, Lila Moss. “When I gave birth to Lila, Jefferson bought me a diamond eternity ring, which is gorgeous. I’ll give it to her one day.”
Despite her vast collection of jewels from all over the world — and a daughter who’s already following in her modeling footsteps — Moss says that Lila hasn’t quite dipped into her stash yet. “She likes all the girly jewelry; she’s not into antiques yet, so my jewelry is safe, for the moment,” she explained.
