“Veronica Mars” fans who were frustrated with the Season 4 finale of their cult fave show now have one more thing to be mad about. TV Guide reports there is currently no plan to move forward with a fifth season of the Kristen Bell-helmed series, which came back only after a crowd-funded “Veronica Mars” movie’s success in 2014. The original TV version of the show ran from September 2004 until May 2004, according to imdb. Series creator Rob Thomas tells TV Guide if another season somehow happens, he’s thinking about going in a more “mystery” focused direction. “The show started out as sort of a teen soap-noir detective show hybrid. And in order for us to keep doing these, I think it needs to become a detective show — a noir, mystery, detective show — and those elements of teenage soap need to be behind us,” he said. “I sort of viewed these eight episodes as a bridge to what ‘Veronica Mars’ might be moving forward.” Hulu declined to comment to the outlet.
