Andy Cohen is appealing for the safe return of a former schoolmate who has been missing for almost two weeks.
The Bravo star and Sirius XM radio host asked for help on his Facebook page following the May 21 disappearance of actor and playwright Andy Neiman.
Both men attended Clayton High School in Cohen’s native St Louis, MO.
Cohen, 53, told Page Six: “Andy is younger than me, but we went to the same camp — Nebagamon in Wisconsin — and the same high school. I’m praying for his safe return, along with a lot of folks in St Louis.”
Neiman, 48, who has bipolar disorder, has not been seen since he walked out of Poughkeepsie’s MidHudson Regional Hospital wearing only green scrubs and socks. The 5’10” dad was not carrying any money or a cellphone at the time.
His younger sister, Emily Abramson, told Page Six that her brother had experienced a psychotic break while staying with her family in High Falls, Ulster County.
Abramson described Neiman, a graduate of Wesleyan College in Middletown, Connecticut, as a “wonderful, spiritual guy” with a special love for his nine-year-old daughter.
“He is incredibly quirky with deep passions for a variety of things, especially the performing arts and Shakespeare,” she added. “His mind is greatly analytical.”
She added, “One of his talents is transmuting his understanding of Shakespeare to people of every age.”
His distraught family now hopes Cohen’s appeal will reinvigorate the search for Neiman, partially financed by a Go Fund Me campaign which has so far raised $38,600.
“Unfortunately, leads to date have not materialized locating Andy,” reads a section of the page. “While we are disappointed, we remain undeterred.”
Donors to the fund have included professionals from the New York City acting scene such as two-time Tony nominee Stark Sands.
