Grey’s Anatomy’s Ellen Pompeo on “new favourite couple” in season 17

Grey’s Anatomy is less about the medical drama and more about the drama of who is getting with who, we all know that.

Thankfully, the fact that there’s a quarantine on isn’t going to get in the way of any romantic pursuits, something Meredith Grey actress Ellen Pompeo is very excited about indeed.

The star attended a table read earlier this week, and fans were desperate to get any hints about what goes in the new scripts. While Pompeo was never going to give everything away, she did give fans a juicy tease.

“I have a new favorite couple,” she tweeted in response to one query, “not sure what you’ll call them… but they are adorable. You guys can have fun guessing who!!”

We wonder who the actress could possibly be on abo… oh, she responded to another tweet and gave away exactly who it is. “Ding ding ding!” she wrote after a fan asked if it was Maggie Pierce and her boyfriend Winston Ndugu. “You guys… you have no idea how adorable they are.”

Something has started to blossom between Maggie and Winston in season 16 before the season was cut short by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While Winston actor Anthony Hill has only appeared in one episode so far because of that, he’s been upgraded to series regular already.

Joining him as a regular is Richard Flood, who plays Meredith’s love interest Cormac Hayes. Of course, there’s also the possibility of a reconciliation with Andrew DeLuca to complicate things.

As if there wasn’t enough romantic drama going on (there never is), it looks like the show will also revisit Teddy and Owen’s relationship.
