For this new episode of our Savoir-Faire series, we head to Portugal and the city of Porto. We meet Liliana Guerreiro, a contemporary jewellery designer who is putting back into fashion a thousand-year-old technique.
A report that takes us 75 kilometers further north to Viana do Castelo, where a troupe of traditional dancers prepared us a surprise welcome. Dressed in folk costumes and covered with solid gold pieces of jewellery, they perform a bespoke show for our camera and quickly attract a crowd of curious passersby.
Not far from there, we discover the workshop where jewels by Liliana Guerreiro are made. A work done entirely by hand by two brothers, among the last to possess this know-how. After them, the line of 4 generations of goldsmith ends.
In her first and new boutique, the designer unveils the ‘Elementos’ necklace which recently won the prize for the ‘best piece of jewelry’ at the Inhorgenta international fair in Munich.
