Harry and Meghan choose California for Christmas

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be singing “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” this year.

The twosome will be staying at home in California instead of flying across the pond to visit the rest of the royal family, Vanity Fair reported.

Every December, Queen Elizabeth brings her brood together to toast the holidays at her Sandringham Estate, the site of the infamous Megxit summit. The US transplants missed the party last year, too, opting to bundle up in Canada with Meghan’s mom, Doria, and son Archie.

Officially, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are nixing the trip because of all the havoc the coronavirus pandemic has played with transatlantic travel. And they’ve told friends they’re just “not ready” to pack their days — even for a short stay — because they’re so happy in their swanky new digs in Santa Barbara.

“At this stage they are really enjoying their new life in California and their new home,” a source told Vanity Fair.

But those friends think the real reason is fallout from the “Fab Four” — Harry, Meghan, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The couples have been in a deep freeze since January, when they met at the Sandringham Estate to hammer out the details of Harry and Meghan’s “step back” from their royal roles.

“Let’s just say that while things are better between Harry and his brother, it’s not what it was, and I don’t think anyone is ready for a cozy family Christmas right now,” the source added.
