Tarek El Moussa and fiancée Heather Rae Young are currently vacationing in Cabo, but they plan to be back home in California for Christmas.
“I think it’s just going to be a quiet Christmas Eve and then the whole family’s coming over for Christmas Day,” Young recently told Page Six. “So that’ll be fun.”
The “Selling Sunset” star said El Moussa’s father and stepdad are both “really amazing cooks,” leaving her to kick back on the holiday.
“They told me I don’t have to stress out about anything. I don’t have to do anything. I just have to be at my house and they’re going to handle everything,” she said.
El Moussa, who has two kids with ex-wife Christina Anstead, said the house is ready for the holiday festivities with “a whole bunch of Christmas lights.”
Outside, the family “wrapped the trees and the bushes” and inside, they put up a big tree and installed decorations “all over the house.”
“One of the fun things that we like to do is the Elf on the Shelf with both kids,” the HGTV star said. “So we have two elves, and every night we place those elves in a weird place in the house. And we add a little gift for them — might be a couple of dollars or something like that.”
When it comes to gifts, El Moussa and Young, who got engaged in July, aren’t skimping.
“Taylor wants a guitar and guitar lessons, and Brayden is obsessed with sharks right now,” Young said of her fiancé’s children. “He’s obsessed with the Megalodon, so I’m getting a bunch of shark gifts.”
The couple played coy on what they’re getting each other this year, but noted that they typically go for jewelry and designer goods.
El Moussa also told us that the couple plans to take a skiing trip to Deer Valley in January with the kids, as they typically enjoy a family vacation every year.
“Obviously that’s tough with the pandemic,” he said, noting that he and Young both miss their jet-setting lifestyles.
“We traveled to Europe together. We love Napa. We love Mexico. We just love traveling,” he continued. “The first half of our relationship, we traveled all over the world — and then next thing we know, we’re quarantined together at the house instead of traveling. So it’s been an interesting journey!”
