Lil Nas X is gearing up to give birth — to his baby, “Montero.”
In preparation for the album’s arrival on Friday, the “Old Town Road” rapper threw himself a lavish baby shower on Wednesday during which he flaunted his “bump.”
“About to kick off my baby shower. trying not to cry omg,” he captioned a series of snaps of himself getting ready to enjoy cupcakes and other sweet treats
Tragically, his guests ghosted him.
“Spent hours setting up for my baby shower and no one showed up :(,” he captioned a video of himself walking into his empty baby shower.
Although no one showed up to celebrate him, guests — including Doja Cat, Elton John and Megan Thee Stallion — all sent in gifts. These artists, of course, are listed as collaborators on his highly anticipated debut full-length album.
Come Thursday morning, the “Panini” rapper began “having contractions”.
Oh I think it’s coming,” he said in a video of himself entering labor on a toilet bowl. “I think the baby’s coming.”
Lil Nas X has had quite the week leading up to his album’s release — the rapper performed at the VMAs on Sunday, left the awards show’s afterparty requiring assistance from his security and then made a jaw-dropping debut at the Met Gala on Monday.
The 22-year-old stunned in three golden outfits that necessitated help from a dedicated team. His first look was a beaded, high-collared golden cape that featured a long, sweeping train, but underneath the regal look was a futuristic, C3PO-worthy suit of armor, revealed with the help of the rapper’s team.
For his third outfit, he shed his heavy-metal getup to reveal a sparkly catsuit.
With a banner week already under his belt, fans can certainly expect more from the “Rodeo” rapper before midnight.
